Ingredients

3 Eggs
220 g Sugar
300 g Yogurt
1 tsp Baking soda
280 g Flour
2 tbs Cocoa
150 g Sunflower oil
125 g grinded Walnuts
10 g Butter
1 tsp Powdered sugar
2 tbs desiccated Coconut

Full of cocoa, coconut and crispiness. Definitely, perfect for picnic, breakfast, dessert or brunch. Serve with coffee or tea and have some undeniably cosy time. Easy to make, all in one bowl recipe. Walnut cake – Soo Tasty with Soo Foodies!

  • It is better if the ingredients are with room temperature
  • Sift the flour and the cocoa for more refined result
  • You may use chopper for the walnuts and mixer for the batter

Whisk the eggs, add the sugar in and beat well so sugar gets fully absorbed. In another bowl, mix the yogurt with the baking soda and wait for a minute to rise. Combine the yogurt-soda with the eggs mixture. Add the flour and the cocoa and stir again to incorporate them. Pour the sunflower oil and whisk. Add the walnuts and give it one final stir.

Place parchment paper in baking tin. Transfer the batter in and put in preheat oven at 200 C until toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry (approximately 30 minutes).

Take out and move to flat plate. Brush the top of the cake with the butter and sprinkle with the powdered sugar. Cover top and sides with the desiccated coconut and serve.
